Consider It Flowers Is Shutting Down: Tennessee’s New Cannabis Law Bans Online Sales, Delivery, and THCa Products

Consider It Flowers shuts down after Tennessee bans online cannabis sales and THCa products starting July 1st.

Consider It Flowers Is Being Forced to Close on July 1st

The Tennessee government is shutting us down.

Starting July 1st, Tennessee’s new hemp law — House Bill 1376 / Senate Bill 1413 — will officially take effect for legacy license holders.

Under the new law, online sales and delivery of all cannabis products will be illegal in Tennessee.

Because Consider It Flowers was built entirely around legal online cannabis sales and compliant home delivery, that law wipes us out.

At the same time, all THCa flower, THCa vape and concentrate products will be removed from shelves statewide, including physical retail stores.

That means many of the products Tennesseans rely on today will no longer legally exist in Tennessee.

So after 6 years in business, we are being forced to turn off our website and stop delivery.

Tennessee’s New Hemp Law Changes the Entire Industry

For years, we worked alongside others in Tennessee’s hemp industry to fight for legal cannabis access across the state.

As an industry, we won a lot of battles:

  • We protected THCa products for many years

  • We pushed back against restrictive regulations

  • We fought for extensions whenever possible

  • We advocated for safe, regulated cannabis access

But this time is different.  There is now a law on the books, and unlike previous regulatory fights, there is nothing left to challenge or delay.

The new law does not eliminate cannabis products entirely. Some products, like gummies and drinks, may still legally remain in certain brick-and-mortar retail stores.

But THCa flower and THCa vapes and concentrates will no longer be legally available in Tennessee.

And because the state also chose to ban online cannabis sales and delivery entirely, businesses like ours are being shut down completely.

Why Many Tennessee Cannabis Businesses Will Likely Close

The reality is that many cannabis businesses across Tennessee will likely shut down.

Between:

  • the online sales ban,

  • the THCa restrictions,

  • and the new wholesale regulations,

it has become extremely difficult for businesses in this industry to survive profitably.

For online cannabis businesses like ours, the impact is immediate.

We Built One of the Most Controlled Cannabis Delivery Systems in the Country

At Consider It Flowers, we spent years building a highly controlled cannabis delivery system designed around compliance and customer safety.

Since 2020, we completed nearly 200,000 compliant deliveries to adults 21+ across Tennessee through a fully trackable, closed-loop system.

Our safeguards included:

  • Biometric ID verification before orders were approved

  • Trained delivery drivers

  • Fully trackable fulfillment from purchase to delivery

Our system was built around accountability, compliance, and customer safety at every step.

We believed Tennessee had an opportunity to become a model for safe, regulated cannabis delivery.

In fact, there was real momentum behind legislation that would have protected online sales and delivery with strict safeguards in place.

But the bill never even made it to the floor.

It was killed behind closed doors by prohibitionists and political interests with far deeper pockets and far more influence.

We Never Saw This Industry as a “Loophole”

Let’s be clear:

We never saw this industry as operating in a loophole.

We are entrepreneurs who saw an opportunity when the government got out of the way.

We built a legitimate business.
We created jobs.
We paid taxes.
And we served adults across Tennessee through a highly compliant system.

Despite overwhelming public support for cannabis reform, and despite the millions of dollars this industry generated for Tennessee, businesses like ours are still being forced out.

Tennessee’s Cannabis Delivery Ban Hurts the People Who Relied on It Most

This affects our:

  • Farmers

  • Suppliers

  • Employees

  • Veterans

  • Seniors

  • Rural Tennesseans

  • Busy parents

  • Customers who relied on safe at-home access

One customer we’ll never forget is a disabled veteran in East Nashville who leaves his front door unlocked for our delivery drivers to come inside because physically getting to the door is difficult for him.

For customers like him, cannabis delivery was never just convenience.  It was accessibility.

What Happens Next for Consider It Flowers?

Even though this chapter is ending, our fight for cannabis in Tennessee is not over.

The Consider It Flowers you know today may be shutting down, but we will continue advocating for safe, legal cannabis access in Tennessee and for the people who rely on it.

And while one chapter closes, another is already beginning.

We’re already working on something new, and we can’t wait to share it with you soon.

Important Dates Before We Close

Last Day for Nashville Delivery

Sunday, June 14th

USPS Shipping

After June 14th, all remaining orders will shift to USPS shipping while inventory lasts.

We’ll do our best to continue shipping through the end of June, but there are no guarantees. Tennessee law requires us to have no remaining inventory after July 1st.

The Corner Store

We’ll continue keeping The Corner Store open and offering in-store pickup through June 30th — or until we run out of inventory.

Once inventory is gone, it’s gone.

To Our Flower Family: Thank You

To everyone who supported Consider It Flowers over the last 6 years:

Thank you.

You helped build more than a business.
You built a family.

We love y’all forever.
