Consider It Flowers Is Closing This October: A Note From Dex & Kelsey

Consider It Flowers Is Closing This October: A Note From Dex & Kelsey

A final update for our Flower Family

To our Flower Family,

This is one of the hardest updates we've had to share.

It breaks our hearts to announce that Consider It Flowers will be closing completely by the end of October 2026.

After Tennessee made online sales and delivery of hemp-derived cannabinoid products illegal, we moved our operations to North Carolina to continue serving customers in other states. Now, we're heartbroken to share that we'll be closing our remaining online business, too.

This is our final restock of vapes, edibles, concentrates, and flower. Once those products are gone, they won't be coming back.

Our online shop will officially close when we sell out or by October 31, 2026—whichever comes first.

October 21, 2026 will be the final day to place vape orders, unless we sell out sooner.

As much as we'd love to keep serving you, we won't be operating into November or December. October 31 is the very latest we'll remain open, and we may close sooner.

You deserve to know what's brought us to this decision, what to expect over the coming weeks, and just how much your support has meant to us.

Why We're Closing

When changes to Tennessee law banned online sales and delivery of hemp-derived cannabinoid products, we weren't ready to give up on Consider It Flowers.

We moved our fulfillment operations to North Carolina so we could continue serving customers outside of Tennessee and reach as much of our Flower Family as legally possible.

We poured our hearts into making that transition work, hoping to keep Consider It Flowers going until the upcoming federal hemp restrictions took effect.

Unfortunately, we've now been hit with another wave of challenges. Shopify has given us a deadline to remove vape products from our online store, while ongoing banking and payment-processing difficulties have made it increasingly difficult to operate.

Under different circumstances, we'd roll up our sleeves and find a way through these challenges, just as we've done before. But with sweeping federal hemp restrictions just a few months away, there simply isn't enough runway to make the changes necessary to keep the business going.

It's heartbreaking to have come this far, only to find ourselves without a viable path forward.

This isn't a temporary pause or a plan to transition into a flower-only store. After everything we've done to keep Consider It Flowers alive, we've made the incredibly difficult decision to close the business completely.

What Our Final Restock Means

We're officially down to our final inventory of vapes, edibles, concentrates, and flower. Once a product sells out, it won't be coming back.

We've worked hard to keep your favorites available for as long as possible, but this is truly the last of what we have.

Even if we still have products on our shelves at the end of October, we'll be closing.

Please keep in mind that legal requirements and platform restrictions may force us to remove certain products or stop sales earlier than planned, even if inventory remains.

Vape Orders End October 21

If you're a vape customer, there's one important date we want you to know: October 21, 2026 will be the final day to place vape orders, unless we sell out sooner.

Shopify recently notified us that we must remove all affected vape products from our online store by October 22, 2026 (UTC). [1]

This restriction applies to vaping products and related accessories covered by Shopify's notice, regardless of whether they contain nicotine, THC, or other cannabinoids. In other words, even though our products are hemp-derived, they're still affected by Shopify's policy.

It's important to understand that this is a Shopify platform restriction, not a new federal law banning all vapes. It's separate from the upcoming federal hemp restrictions we'll explain below.

To comply with Shopify's deadline, we'll remove any remaining affected vape products on October 21. Because Shopify's deadline is based on UTC, orders may close before midnight in your local time zone.

This earlier cutoff is one of the reasons we're having to say goodbye sooner than we'd hoped.

Our other products, including edibles, concentrates, and flower, will remain part of our final inventory until they sell out or our store closes, subject to applicable legal and platform requirements.

The Federal Hemp Ban: What It Actually Means

You may have heard about the upcoming federal hemp ban, but what does it actually mean?

In simple terms, Congress passed legislation that drastically changes which hemp products can legally be sold under federal law. When the new rules take effect, the vast majority of hemp-derived THC products currently on the market, including the products we carry at Consider It Flowers, will no longer qualify as legal hemp. [2]

The New 0.4 mg THC Limit

Here's an example of just how restrictive the new law is:

Under the new rules, a finished hemp product can contain no more than 0.4 milligrams of combined total THC and certain other cannabinoids covered by the law per entire package. Not per gummy. Not per serving. The entire package.

So, if you currently enjoy a gummy containing 10 mg of THC, that single gummy would contain 25 times the amount allowed in an entire package under the new federal hemp definition.

What About THCa Flower and Other Hemp Products?

The law also changes how THC is measured, including THCa in the total THC calculation. This means hemp flower and other products that previously qualified as legal hemp will be affected, too. [2]

To be clear, this isn't a ban on the hemp plant itself. Industrial hemp used for things like textiles, fiber, and food products is treated separately.

But for businesses like ours, built around hemp-derived cannabinoid products, these changes effectively eliminate the legal foundation of what we do.

When Does the Federal Hemp Ban Take Effect?

Most of these federal changes are scheduled to take effect December 11, 2026, although certain cannabinoid products will be affected earlier, beginning November 12. [2][3]

And while the broader federal restrictions don't take effect until December, the challenges we're facing with Shopify, banking, and payment processing mean we simply can't keep operating until then.

When Will Consider It Flowers Officially Close?

Our online store will close when we sell out or by October 31, 2026, whichever comes first. Legal or platform requirements could mean an earlier end to sales.

When Is the Last Day to Order Vapes?

October 21, 2026 is the final day to place vape orders, unless we sell out sooner. Any remaining affected vape products will be removed from our store in time to meet Shopify's October 22 UTC deadline. [1]

Will You Continue Selling Flower?

Unfortunately, no. We know many of you love our flower, but we've made the difficult decision to close the entire business rather than transition to a flower-only store.

Will You Stay Open Into November or December?

No. Even though the broader federal hemp restrictions don't take effect until December, our online store will close by October 31 at the latest.

From the Bottom of Our Hearts, Thank You

To everyone who has been part of our Flower Family, we truly can't thank you enough.

When we started Consider It Flowers, we never could have imagined the community that would grow around it. What started as a business became something so much bigger, and that's because of you.

Thank you for every order, every kind message, every conversation, and every friend or family member you sent our way. Thank you for trusting us, believing in what we were building, and sticking with us through all the unexpected twists and turns.

We've poured so much of our hearts, time, and energy into Consider It Flowers. Saying goodbye to something we've worked so hard to build is incredibly painful, especially when it feels like there's still so much more we wanted to do.

But more than anything, we're proud of what we created together. We're proud of the community that formed around this little business and the connections we've made along the way.

While this chapter is coming to an end, the gratitude we feel for every single one of you isn't going anywhere.

We wish this story had a different ending, but we're so grateful you were part of it.

With so much love and gratitude,

Dex & Kelsey
